Three things from Rubrik this month: one that may already be broken, one with a date on it, and the current CDM builds.
If you stream events to Microsoft Sentinel, check your webhooks now
Microsoft deprecated legacy static authentication for Microsoft Sentinel on 14 September 2026. Any Rubrik Security Cloud event streaming webhook still using the legacy method may fail as a result.
The date is the point. This is not a deadline to plan for — it has passed, and a webhook that stopped working does not necessarily announce itself. If you rely on RSC event streaming to feed Sentinel, the alerting you think you have may have gone quiet nearly a month ago.
The fix is to update the webhook configuration to OAuth 2.0. Check the integration is actually delivering events afterwards rather than assuming the configuration change is enough.
IdP-initiated SSO for Rubrik Security Cloud
RSC now supports IdP-initiated SSO, so users can launch it directly from their identity provider’s application portal instead of navigating to the RSC login page first.
Worth enabling if you are trying to get backup administration into the same access-governance story as everything else — it puts RSC in the same tile list as the rest of the estate, and the access review that goes with it.
Backrightup standalone reaches end of life on 18 February 2027
Rubrik has announced the End of Life of the standalone Backrightup offering, which provides backup and recovery for Azure DevOps and GitHub. It reaches both End of Life and End of Support on 18 February 2027, after which it is neither available nor supported.
The replacement is Rubrik DevOps Protection, fully integrated into Rubrik Security Cloud, which Rubrik released on 15 December 2025. Customers on standalone Backrightup are encouraged to transition.
Sixteen months sounds comfortable until you remember that source control backup tends to sit with a development team rather than the backup team, and nobody owns the migration until someone names them. If you have customers on standalone Backrightup, this is a conversation to have while it is still a planning exercise.
