Modern organizations generate more data than ever — backups, AI workloads, media assets, compliance archives, and operational logs. But storing that data in the cloud has become increasingly complex and expensive. Hidden fees, unpredictable egress costs, and multiple storage tiers make it difficult to scale storage with confidence.

Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage offers a different approach. Through Arrosoft, organizations can deploy Wasabi’s high-performance cloud object storage to securely store, protect, and access their data — without unpredictable pricing or unnecessary complexity.

How Wasabi pricing works

Most cloud storage bills are hard to forecast because the storage line is only part of the charge. Retrieval, egress, API requests and tier transitions all add up, and none of them are knowable in advance. Wasabi removes most of those variables. It is worth understanding exactly how, including the conditions, because that is what determines whether it will be cheaper for your workload.

One tier, one price

There is no hot, cool, cold or archive tier to choose between, and no lifecycle policy to tune. Data is stored in a single active tier and is immediately available when you ask for it. You are not penalized for reading data you stored eleven months ago, and you do not have to predict access patterns at the point of upload.

No egress or API request charges

Downloads and API calls are not billed separately. The condition attached is straightforward and worth knowing up front: monthly egress should not exceed the volume of data you have stored. If you keep 200 TB in Wasabi and download 200 TB or less in a month, you are within the policy. Workloads that read far more than they store each month — a busy content delivery origin, for example — fall outside it.

The 90-day minimum storage duration

This is the condition most often missed. On pay-as-you-go, objects carry a 90-day minimum storage duration. Delete something after 10 days and you are still charged for the remaining 80. For backups, archives and compliance data this is irrelevant, because you keep that data for years. For short-lived scratch data, temporary build artifacts or anything with a lifecycle measured in days, it makes Wasabi a poor economic fit. Reserved capacity contracts reduce the minimum to 30 days.

Pay as you go or reserved capacity

Pay-as-you-go bills monthly against actual usage, with a minimum of 1 TB of active storage per account. Reserved capacity starts at 25 TB and fixes a rate over a one, three or five-year term, with the discount depending on both the capacity committed and the length of the term. Reserved capacity is not tied to a region, so committed capacity can be used wherever you need it.

What it will cost you

Pricing through Arrosoft depends on committed capacity, term length and the services wrapped around the storage, so the honest answer is that it is quoted rather than listed. What we will do is model it against your actual data — current volume, growth rate, how much you read back each month, and how long you are required to retain it — and tell you plainly whether the numbers work. If they do not, we will say so.

What organizations store in it

Backup and long-term retention

The most common use, and the one the economics suit best. Backup data is written once, kept for a long time, and read back rarely — exactly the profile the 90-day minimum and the flat rate reward. Wasabi is S3-compatible, so it works as a target for the major backup platforms without custom integration. Arrosoft commonly deploys it behind Commvault and Veeam, and as the off-site copy within Managed Backup Services and BaaS. If you are replacing tape or an aging secondary site, this is usually the first workload to move.

Archive and compliance retention

Records you are required to keep for seven years, or indefinitely, and must be able to produce on request. Conventional archive tiers make retrieval slow and expensive, which is tolerable until an auditor or a legal hold makes it urgent. Here the data sits in the same active tier as everything else, so producing it is a download rather than a restore request.

Media libraries and large unstructured data

Video, imagery, design assets, scan and survey data. These libraries grow steadily, are read unpredictably, and are expensive to keep on primary storage. Flat pricing with no retrieval charge means the cost of keeping an asset is the same whether anyone opens it or not.

AI and analytics datasets

Training corpora, feature stores and the raw data behind analytics pipelines. These are read repeatedly, so the egress policy matters more here than elsewhere — worth sizing against your actual read volume before committing. Where it fits, removing per-request and retrieval charges makes the cost of experimentation predictable.

Where Wasabi is not the right answer

It is a better conversation to have now than after migration. Wasabi is a poor fit for data with a lifecycle shorter than 90 days, for workloads that read substantially more than they store each month, and for applications that need block or file semantics rather than object storage. It also does not replace a primary filesystem for latency-sensitive transactional workloads.

If your requirement is a deep archive you genuinely never expect to read, a cold-tier service may still be cheaper per terabyte — provided the retrieval cost never materializes. That is the trade being made, and it is worth making deliberately.

Security, durability and where your data sits

Immutability

Objects can be written with a retention period during which they cannot be deleted — not by a user, not by an administrator, and not by Wasabi. This is the capability that matters most for ransomware resilience, because it means a compromised backup console cannot destroy the copies you would recover from. Arrosoft configures and tests this as part of a managed deployment rather than leaving it as a setting someone may or may not have enabled.

Certification

Wasabi’s storage regions are certified to SOC 2, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.

Data residency

You choose the region your data is stored in, bucket by bucket. Wasabi operates regions across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific — in APAC, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka and Sydney. There is no in-country region for every market, so if you are subject to a data residency requirement that mandates storage within a specific country, that is the first thing to check rather than the last. We will tell you honestly whether Wasabi can meet it.

What Arrosoft adds

Buying storage is the easy part. What Arrosoft provides is the design and operation around it: sizing against your real data profile rather than a list price, bucket and lifecycle design, immutability and access policy configuration, integration with your existing backup platform, migration from whatever you are on now, and ongoing monitoring of capacity and spend.

Common questions

Is Wasabi compatible with our existing tools?

Wasabi presents an S3-compatible API, so most backup, archive and storage applications that support Amazon S3 work against it with a change of endpoint and credentials. Arrosoft validates the specific integration before migration rather than assuming it.

Can we try it before committing?

Wasabi offers a free trial of 100 GB for 30 days to business email domains. For a realistic assessment we would normally pair that with a sizing exercise against your actual data, since the trial tells you whether it works, not whether it is cheaper.

How do we move existing data in?

Ingress is not charged, so the cost of moving data in is time rather than transfer fees. The right approach depends on how much data you hold and how much bandwidth you can spare without disrupting production, and we scope that with you before anything moves. For an initial load large enough that network transfer is impractical, tell us the volume and we will come back with the options.

What happens if we want to leave?

Your data is yours and is retrievable over the same S3-compatible API you wrote it with, subject to the egress policy above. It is a fair question to ask of any storage provider, and one worth asking before you sign rather than after.

Where do we start?

With your current storage bill and a view of how much data you hold, how fast it is growing and how often you read it back. That is enough for us to model whether Wasabi saves you money. Request a cloud storage cost assessment.
